Ladies who lunch

I feel very lucky to know a group of ladies who enjoy getting together to enjoy each other's company over lunch.  We don't have a set schedule for our luncheons as everyone has a busy life but do try to get together at least once a month when the weather is warm.  We all belong to a painting group that meets regularly in Gunnislake and each bring a dish to share over lunch and laughs.  We also make an effort to do some kind of artwork whether it be painting or drawing.....it doesn't really matter as long as we're having fun!  On this day we were at Fiona's house which is also an amazing Bed and Breakfast called "Trenear" and is located on the edge of the village of St. Dominik in the beautiful county of Cornwall.  From the deck we were treated to stunning countryside views toward Harrowbarrow and just beyond the garden wall is a huge field of strawberries....yum.

Just couldn't resist adding this beautiful Hollyhock photo from Fiona's garden.  Just beautiful!

Fishing village of Polperro

The beautiful fishing village of Polperro sits on the southeast coast of Cornwall and attracts thousands of visitors every year.   We have a family connection to the village and have enjoyed many visits to this most picturesque and friendly place.   Visiting Polperro is like taking a step back in time.  There is a tram service from the car park down into the village or you can walk down the road which turns into narrow lanes as you reach the heart of the village.  The village is lined with beautifully maintained cottages, shops, galleries and there are also many places to sample wonderful Cornish food including the world famous Cornish Pasty!  No doubt there will be more posts for Polperro in the future so I can share more of the sites around here.

Introducing our adventures with Brollie

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I thought it would be fun to share some adventures we've had during our travels around South West Britain.   Before moving to England I was given a Brollie as a kind of joke gift because of Englands reputation for having the odd rainy day!  Unfortunately the original Brollie went "walkies" during a visit to a cafe in London so this is actually Brollie 2 but works well just the same.....we both fit under it nicely!   I'm going to enjoy sharing our adventures with you and hope you enjoy reading about this lovely part of the world.  Just as a matter of interest, this picture of Brollie was taken in the grounds of  Saltram House, a beautiful National Trust property in Devon.
